Dry eyes, fatigue, and occasional itching!
I have been feeling dryness and fatigue in my eyes lately, and they occasionally itch, causing significant discomfort. What could be causing this?
Dryness, fatigue, and occasional itching of the eyes may be caused by overuse of the eyes due to prolonged use of computers or other electronic devices, leading to symptoms such as dryness, fatigue, and occasional itchiness. This condition is commonly known as dry eye syndrome or visual fatigue. Another possible cause is dry eye disease, which usually results from insufficient tear production or excessive evaporation of tears, causing dryness and discomfort in the eyes.
To relieve these symptoms, you can look away from the screen every 20 minutes and focus on a distant object for 20 seconds to reduce eye strain. Artificial tear eye drops can also be used to supplement moisture and relieve dryness. Regular eye examinations are recommended to detect and address any eye health issues promptly.
Daily care measures can include applying a warm compress with a towel to promote blood circulation around the eyes and alleviate dryness. Eating foods rich in vitamins, such as blueberries and carrots, can support eye health. Washing your eyes with warm boiled water may help reduce discomfort. Adjusting your lifestyle habits, avoiding staying up late, limiting the time spent using electronic devices, and avoiding prolonged screen staring are also important.
