Diarrhea, also known as loose stools, is a condition during which the following foods should be avoided or consumed with caution:

1. High-fat foods: such as fried foods and fatty meats. These foods are difficult to digest and may irritate the gastrointestinal tract, leading to worsening diarrhea.

2. High-fiber foods: including whole grains, raw vegetables, and fruit peels. Although high-fiber foods are beneficial to health, excessive fiber during diarrhea can accelerate intestinal motility and worsen the condition.

3. Dairy products: for individuals with lactose intolerance, milk and other dairy products may exacerbate diarrhea. Even without lactose intolerance, the intestinal absorption capacity is reduced during diarrhea, making the lactose in dairy products difficult to digest and potentially causing discomfort.

4. Beverages containing caffeine and alcohol: such as coffee, tea, and alcohol. These beverages have a diuretic effect, which may lead to dehydration and further irritate the intestines, worsening diarrhea.

5. Spicy foods: spicy seasonings such as chili peppers and mustard can irritate the gastrointestinal tract, increase the risk of diarrhea, and delay recovery.

If diarrhea symptoms persist or worsen, prompt medical attention should be sought.
