What causes pain in the soles of the feet?
Wearing relatively stiff shoes can cause soreness in the soles of the feet after walking for a long time. Why is this?

Foot sole pain is a common symptom that can be caused by various factors:
1. Trauma or strenuous exercise: These can lead to injury of the plantar fascia or chronic strain of the metatarsophalangeal joints in the foot, resulting in foot sole pain.
2. Plantar fasciitis: Particularly in individuals who stand or walk for prolonged periods, excessive pressure on the soft tissues of the foot may cause chronic soft tissue damage, leading to plantar fasciitis and subsequent foot sole pain.
3. Lumbar degenerative diseases: Conditions such as lumbar disc herniation, lumbar spondylolisthesis, and lumbar spinal stenosis may compress or irritate the nerve roots in the lower back, causing pain in the lower limbs and foot soles.
4. Neuropathy: For example, diabetic neuropathy can also cause foot sole pain.
5. Physiological factors: Prolonged standing, walking, or physical activity, especially when wearing ill-fitting shoes, can increase pressure on the soles of the feet, leading to fatigue and overuse injuries that cause pain. Additionally, with aging, the soft tissues of the feet may gradually lose elasticity, making the soles more susceptible to injury.
