Causes of Foot Pain
My foot sole has been hurting constantly, especially when I first get up in the morning; the pain is severe as soon as I put my foot on the ground. After walking for a while, the pain slightly improves, but there is still a persistent dull ache. Why does the sole of my foot hurt?

Causes of heel pain may include:
1. Improper footwear: Socks that are too tight or shoes that are too small can cause excessive pressure on the soles and toes, leading to pain, redness, and discomfort.
2. Improper walking posture: Poor walking posture can cause continuous irritation to the soles, resulting in tissue congestion and subsequent pain.
3. Prolonged walking: Extended walking can place continuous pressure on the soles of the feet, causing pain and aching sensations.
4. Plantar fasciitis: More noticeable upon waking in the morning or after prolonged standing. The plantar fascia is a thick band of tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes; overuse or lack of proper support can lead to inflammation.
5. Metatarsal bone spurs: Long-term plantar fasciitis can lead to the formation of bone spurs under the heel. Although the bone spurs themselves are not painful, inflammation of surrounding tissues can cause pain.
6. Neuropathy: Pressure or injury to nerves in the foot, especially in the forefoot area, can cause severe pain, sharp pains, or numbness.
7. Flat feet or high arches: Abnormal foot arch shapes can lead to uneven pressure distribution on the soles, eventually causing pain over time.
