Why does my left shoulder hurt as a woman?
Why does my shoulder hurt after sitting in front of the computer for a long time without moving?
Common causes of left shoulder pain in women:
1. Muscle or joint injuries: Including muscle strain, rotator cuff injury, shoulder arthritis, or periarthritis. These issues are commonly associated with overuse, repetitive movements, or aging.
2. Periarthritis: Periarthritis is a common shoulder condition that causes inflammation and adhesion of the soft tissues around the shoulder joint, stimulating nerve endings and resulting in pain. This pain typically occurs around the shoulder joint, especially between the scapula and humerus, and may be accompanied by limited range of motion.
3. Rotator cuff injury: The rotator cuff consists of muscles and tendons surrounding the shoulder joint that help facilitate shoulder movement. If the rotator cuff is injured, it can cause shoulder pain and restricted movement. Rotator cuff injuries may result from trauma, prolonged repetitive movements, or degenerative wear and tear.
4. Cervical spondylosis: Cervical spondylosis may cause compression of the nerve roots, radiating pain to the left shoulder and causing left shoulder discomfort. This type of pain may sometimes be accompanied by numbness in the upper limb, hand pain, or other related symptoms.
