In general, chronic enteritis is difficult to heal on its own. However, under certain special circumstances, such as chronic enteritis with mild symptoms, spontaneous relief may be possible after adjustments to diet and lifestyle. For chronic enteritis with a clear cause, such as medication-induced enteritis or allergic enteritis, self-healing may also occur after discontinuation of exposure to the causative agent.

Patients with chronic enteritis should pay attention to dietary adjustments in daily life. It is recommended to avoid irritating foods, high-fat foods, and difficult-to-digest foods, increase intake of dietary fiber, and maintain adequate hydration and electrolyte balance. In some cases, supplementation with vitamins and minerals may also be necessary to compensate for nutritional deficiencies caused by malabsorption. If symptoms of chronic enteritis persist or worsen, such as frequent abdominal pain, fever, or findings of erosion or ulcers on enteroscopic examination, the likelihood of spontaneous healing is low, and active medical treatment along with dietary modifications should be pursued to improve the condition.
