Dr. Shen Yonghua

The method for using Kaisailu to relieve constipation is as follows:

1. Preparation: Ensure your hands are clean to avoid cross-infection. Check that the Kaisailu packaging is intact and not expired. Kaisailu is typically for single use, and the bottle is designed with a slender catheter.

2. Positioning: It is recommended to lie on your side with the left leg bent and the right leg straightened. This position facilitates easier insertion of the catheter and allows even distribution of the medication within the rectum.

3. Lubrication and Insertion: Squeeze the bottle gently and expel a small amount of the medication onto the tip of the catheter to lubricate it. Then, slowly and gently insert the catheter into the anus to a depth of approximately 4–5 centimeters. Take care not to apply excessive force to avoid injury.

4. Administering the medication: Hold the Kaisailu bottle upright and gently squeeze the bottle until all the medication has been administered into the rectum. This process may take several seconds to about a minute.

5. Maintaining Position: After administration, remain in the same position, keep the buttocks tightly clenched, and try to retain the medication in the rectum for 10–15 minutes to allow it to take full effect. If necessary, the retention time may be slightly reduced.

6. Defecation: Defecate naturally afterward. If there is still no urge to defecate after 15 minutes, wait a little longer or consider other treatment options.
