Symptoms of Gastrointestinal Dysfunction
I always have no appetite and suffer from indigestion. After visiting the hospital, I was told that my digestive system is not functioning properly. I would like to learn more about the symptoms of digestive system disorders.

Functional gastrointestinal disorders, as a functional disease of the digestive system, have the following main symptoms:
1. Upper abdominal discomfort: including abdominal pain, burning sensation, fullness, or heaviness, especially noticeable after eating.
2. Nausea and vomiting: when digestion is impaired, food remains in the stomach for prolonged periods, easily causing nausea and vomiting.
3. Difficulty swallowing: esophageal dysfunction may cause a sensation of difficulty swallowing or a feeling of a foreign body during swallowing.
4. Belching and acid reflux: excessive gas in the stomach or acid reflux into the esophagus can cause belching and a burning sensation behind the breastbone.
5. Alternating diarrhea and constipation: intestinal dysfunction may lead to changes in bowel habits, with alternating episodes of diarrhea and constipation.
6. Abdominal bloating and increased flatulence: impaired absorption or elimination of intestinal gas can lead to a feeling of abdominal distension and increased gas expulsion.
7. Loss of appetite: when gastrointestinal function is impaired, patients may lose interest in food and experience reduced appetite.
If any of these symptoms occur, prompt medical attention is recommended.
