L1 vertebral pathological fracture, lumbar spinal stenosis, and osteoporosis are three common spinal diseases that may interact with each other.

An L1 vertebral pathological fracture usually refers to a lumbar vertebral fracture caused by reduced bone quality under minor external forces. Lumbar spinal stenosis refers to narrowing of the spinal canal space, which compresses nerve roots or the spinal cord, causing symptoms such as pain and numbness. Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disease characterized by reduced bone density and destruction of bone microarchitecture, increasing the risk of fractures.

1. L1 vertebral pathological fracture: Treatment depends on the severity of the fracture. For unstable fractures, prompt surgical intervention is recommended, such as posterior lumbar pedicle screw internal fixation, minimally invasive percutaneous cement vertebroplasty, or kyphoplasty. Strict bed rest, avoiding physical activity, along with immobilization using devices such as splints or lumbar braces is also necessary.

2. Lumbar spinal stenosis: If symptoms are mild, conservative treatments such as bed rest and physical therapy may be initially considered. If conservative treatment proves ineffective, interventions such as nerve block therapy, pharmacological treatment, or minimally invasive procedures may be considered.

3. Osteoporosis: Treatment may include calcium and vitamin D supplementation, and when necessary, anti-osteoporotic medications.
