On November 24, I underwent implant placement combined with ear cartilage graft. It has been 35 days since the surgery, but the nasal tip remains red.
I received a rhinoplasty surgery with implants and ear cartilage on November 24th. Thirty-five days post-operation, she noticed persistent redness at the tip of her nose, which caused me great concern, as I worry it might be a post-surgical complication or a sign of infection.

After rhinoplasty, redness and swelling at the nasal tip may be caused by various factors. Usually, mild redness and swelling following surgery are normal reactions, as the surgical procedure causes trauma to the nasal tissues, requiring time for recovery. However, if the redness and swelling persist for an extended period and are accompanied by symptoms such as pain, discharge, or fever, they may indicate an infection. In addition, implant displacement, rejection reactions, or poor blood circulation may also lead to redness and swelling at the nasal tip.
It is recommended to continue monitoring changes in the nasal tip, including color, degree of swelling, and the presence of abnormal symptoms such as pain. Regularly clean the wound and use povidone-iodine or 75% alcohol solution for disinfection to reduce the risk of infection. If the redness at the nasal tip persists or is accompanied by other symptoms, prompt medical consultation with a professional physician is advised.
