What should not be eaten with chrysanthemum flowers?
I bought some daylilies (Huanghuacai) last night and used them to cook a dish today, but after eating it, I experienced diarrhea, weakness, and other symptoms. Therefore, I would like to know what foods should not be consumed together with daylilies.

There are some foods that are not recommended to be consumed with daylily:
1. Cold-natured foods: Daylily is slightly cooling in nature. Consuming it together with cold-natured foods such as watermelon and pear may exacerbate internal coldness, leading to diarrhea or gastrointestinal discomfort.
2. Foods rich in tannic acid: Such as persimmons and tea. Tannic acid can combine with proteins in daylily to form substances that are difficult to digest, affecting nutrient absorption and potentially causing gastric stone formation.
3. Foods high in oxalic acid: Such as spinach and beetroot. Oxalic acid can combine with calcium in daylily to easily form insoluble calcium oxalate, increasing the risk of kidney stones.
4. High-protein foods: Consuming large amounts of high-protein foods such as meat and soy products together with daylily may increase the burden on the kidneys, especially for individuals with impaired kidney function.
It should be noted that fresh daylily contains colchicine, which may cause food poisoning if not thoroughly cooked. Therefore, it is essential to ensure that daylily has been adequately cooked before consumption.
