How to Clean the Belly Button
Recently, I noticed that my belly button was dirty while showering and would like to know how to clean it properly.

The navel, medically referred to as the "umbilical area," is an important part of the human abdomen and is the scar left after the umbilical cord is cut in newborns. Due to its concave structure, it tends to accumulate dirt, sweat, and sebum, making it a breeding ground for bacteria. Therefore, regular cleaning is essential. The following are methods for cleaning the navel:
1. Prepare tools: Use warm water and mild soap or cleanser, and prepare a clean cotton swab or soft towel.
2. Rinse with clean water: During bathing, gently rinse the navel with running water, taking care not to scrub too hard to avoid skin damage.
3. Wipe with a wet towel: If you prefer not to rinse directly with water, you may gently wipe around the navel with a wet towel.
4. Clean with a cotton swab: For deeper navels, dip a cotton swab in warm water or soapy water and gently rotate it to wipe away dirt from deeper areas.
5. Soak with iodophor: When there is excessive dirt or an unpleasant odor in the navel, soaking it with iodophor can help soften the debris and disinfect the area.
6. Dry the navel: Gently pat the area dry with a clean towel to keep the navel dry, as a moist environment can promote bacterial growth.
7. Regular inspection: Regularly check the navel for abnormalities such as redness, swelling, or discharge. If discomfort or unusual symptoms occur, seek medical attention promptly.
