It is recommended to wait 7 to 10 days after double eyelid surgery before resuming normal face washing.

Double eyelid surgery creates incisions on the eyelid skin. Water contains bacteria and other microorganisms; washing the face too early and exposing the unhealed wounds to water may lead to infections, resulting in symptoms such as redness, increased pain, and pus formation. Additionally, the wound is fragile immediately after surgery, and rubbing during face washing may cause the wound to reopen, affecting proper healing and potentially compromising the shape of the double eyelid. Therefore, it is advised to wait 7 to 10 days after surgery before washing the face, depending on the individual healing progress.

After undergoing double eyelid surgery, patients should strictly follow medical advice for post-operative care, keeping the eye area clean and dry, and applying anti-inflammatory ointment as scheduled to promote wound healing. If cleaning of the eye area is necessary, use sterile saline solution or a cleanser recommended by the doctor, gently wiping without vigorous rubbing of the surgical site. Furthermore, avoid consuming spicy and irritating foods, and increase intake of foods rich in protein and vitamins, which are beneficial for eye recovery.
