What causes breast and nipple pain?
My friend said she has recently been experiencing breast pain and went to the hospital for a checkup. The doctor said it was caused by poor hygiene. I would also like to know what other factors can cause breast pain?

Breast nipple pain may be caused by clothing friction, unhealthy lifestyle habits, the period before and after menstruation, mastitis, ovarian function decline, etc.
1. Clothing friction: Wearing rough fiber fabrics, synthetic materials, or tight clothing may irritate and rub against the nipples, causing pain. It is recommended to choose soft and comfortable clothing materials.
2. Poor hygiene: Using strongly irritating cleansing products or improper nipple cleaning may also lead to nipple sensitivity and pain.
3. Before and after menstruation: Due to hormonal fluctuations, some women may experience breast swelling or tenderness, which is considered normal.
4. Mastitis: Acute mastitis is an acute suppurative infection of the breast, commonly seen in postpartum lactating women, which may cause breast swelling and pain on the affected side, possibly involving the nipple and causing pain.
5. Ovarian function decline: Some patients may experience hormonal imbalances due to ovarian function decline, which can also cause nipple pain.
If breast pain persists or is accompanied by other abnormal symptoms, it is recommended to seek timely medical attention for detailed examination to determine the cause and receive appropriate treatment. Additionally, it is recommended to maintain a healthy lifestyle and perform regular breast self-examinations in daily life, which can help detect breast problems at an early stage.
