High uric acid, usually refers to hyperuricemia caused by abnormal purine metabolism in the body, which is closely related to the occurrence of diseases such as gout and uric acid kidney disease. To control uric acid levels, dietary adjustments are necessary. The following are foods that should be avoided or limited:

1. High-purine foods: such as animal offal, seafood, meat, and concentrated meat broths. These foods contain high levels of purines, which can easily increase uric acid levels after consumption.

2. Alcohol: especially beer, because it contains high levels of purines, which can promote uric acid production and inhibit uric acid excretion, increasing the risk of gout attacks.

3. Sugar-sweetened beverages: including sweetened drinks, carbonated beverages, and fruit juices. The fructose they contain can accelerate uric acid production.

4. Refined grains and high glycemic index foods: such as white bread and white rice. These foods may lead to weight gain, and obesity is a risk factor for hyperuricemia.

5. High-sugar foods: a high-sugar diet increases lactic acid production in the body, which in turn inhibits uric acid excretion, leading to elevated uric acid levels. Therefore, intake of high-sugar foods such as candy, desserts, and carbonated beverages should be reduced.

6. High-salt foods: a high-salt diet increases uric acid reabsorption, which is detrimental to uric acid excretion. High-salt foods such as pickled vegetables and preserved foods should be avoided as much as possible.
