Can I drink red wine before bedtime?
I am 22 years old this year, and I usually enjoy drinking alcohol. I would like to know whether I can drink red wine before bedtime.

Under normal circumstances, drinking red wine before bedtime is acceptable, but it should be consumed in moderation.
Drinking a small amount of red wine before sleep can help relax the body and mind, relieve tension and stress from the day, and aid in falling asleep more easily. Antioxidants in red wine, such as polyphenols, may help remove free radicals from the body and offer certain health benefits. However, excessive consumption of red wine can burden the body, impair sleep quality, and potentially lead to health issues such as liver damage.
If you are allergic to alcohol, you should avoid drinking red wine at all times to prevent allergic reactions. Additionally, if you are taking certain medications, alcohol may interact with them, affecting drug efficacy or increasing the risk of side effects. Therefore, caution should be exercised when consuming red wine while on medication. Although drinking red wine before bedtime may help with relaxation and sleep onset, it is advisable to avoid drinking it immediately before sleep, as it may disrupt sleep quality. It is recommended to consume red wine some time in advance, allowing the body time to metabolize the alcohol.
Although moderate consumption of red wine may offer some health benefits, it is not recommended as a bedtime beverage. If you wish to enjoy a glass of red wine in the evening, it is advised to drink it at least 2–3 hours before bedtime, and to be mindful of your individual physical condition and alcohol intake to avoid adverse health effects.
