Will eating instant noodles dry make you gain weight?
I eat a lot of instant noodles and feel that I am somewhat overweight, especially in the lower body. Does eating dry instant noodles cause weight gain?
Eating instant noodles dry may lead to weight gain. Instant noodles mainly consist of carbohydrates, oils, and a small amount of protein; their nutritional value is relatively low and their calorie density is high. Eating instant noodles dry means not adding the soup base or seasoning packets, which reduces the intake of some salt and oil, but the basic ingredients of the noodles remain unchanged.
Whether eaten as a soup dish or dry, the main components of instant noodles include carbohydrates, oils, and seasonings, all of which provide a relatively high amount of calories. When eating instant noodles dry, without the addition of water, you may consume more noodle blocks at once, leading to a higher caloric intake. If these additional calories exceed the energy expended through daily activities, it may result in weight gain. Due to the high-calorie and low-nutrient characteristics of instant noodles, excessive consumption—regardless of whether they are eaten dry or not—can lead to excessive energy intake, thereby increasing the risk of weight gain.
