Disease description:

I just had hyaluronic acid injections a few days ago, and my friends have invited me to a gathering these two days. I really couldn't refuse their kind invitation. I know that drinking alcohol after the procedure might have some effects, but I'm not exactly sure about the details. I'd like to know how long I should wait before drinking alcohol after receiving hyaluronic acid injections.

It usually takes 2-7 days to resume drinking alcohol after hyaluronic acid injection, with specific timing possibly varying.

Generally, it is recommended to wait at least 2-3 days after hyaluronic acid injection before consuming alcohol. This is because alcohol can dilate blood vessels, potentially increasing the risk of swelling and bruising at the injection site. Additionally, alcohol may interfere with the body's healing process and prolong recovery time. The first two days after injection are a critical recovery period, during which any activities that may affect wound healing, including alcohol consumption, should be avoided.

Within seven days after the injection, the local tissue remains in a sensitive state, and drinking alcohol may increase the risk of local allergic reactions, such as swelling, redness, and pain. Therefore, alcohol consumption is discouraged. After seven days, if there are no abnormal reactions at the injection site, moderate alcohol consumption can be resumed. However, considering hyaluronic acid absorption and effectiveness, it is advisable to limit alcohol intake for up to two weeks to avoid compromising the results of the injection.

After receiving any cosmetic injections, it is important to follow your doctor's instructions and allow your body sufficient time to adjust and recover.
