Can children with G6PD deficiency (favism) take pediatric cold granules?
My son has G6PD deficiency (favism). May I ask if I can give him Children's Cold Ling Granules?
Patients with G6PD deficiency (favism) should not take Xiaor Ganganling Granules. This medication is used to treat the common cold and is ineffective for treating favism. It may also cause side effects and should not be taken without medical advice. Favism may be triggered by eating fava beans, bacterial or viral infections, and other factors. Symptoms may include fever, nausea, dizziness, etc. Under a doctor's guidance, patients can take medications such as sodium bicarbonate tablets for symptom relief. Please note that sodium bicarbonate tablets are suitable for children aged 6 years and older.
