If a child's cough and vomiting are caused by an upper respiratory tract infection, medications such as acetaminophen, chlorpheniramine, and artificial cow-bezoar granules or isatidis root capsule may be used under a doctor's guidance. If caused by pneumonia, antibiotics can be used to control the inflammation, including commonly used medications such as amoxicillin clavulanate potassium granules and cefixime granules. However, please note that infants must be at least 6 months old before using cefixime granules.
