When the air is excessively dry, especially during autumn and winter or when indoor heating is in use, humidity levels drop, making it easier for breathing to remove moisture from the nasal mucosa, leading to dryness and fragility of the nasal mucosa and subsequent nosebleeds.

Chronic habitual nose picking may damage the nasal mucosa and cause bleeding. Rhinitis, caused by viral or bacterial infections or exposure to allergens, leads to swelling of the nasal mucosa and damage to capillaries. Deviated nasal septum, possibly related to developmental abnormalities or trauma, results in structural abnormalities of the nasal septum and fragile nasal mucosa. Sinusitis, nasal polyps, and other conditions can also cause nosebleeds.

Occasional mild nosebleeds generally do not require excessive concern, but if they occur frequently or involve heavy bleeding, prompt medical attention is necessary to rule out underlying health issues. Treatment methods for nosebleeds vary depending on the cause and may include local hemostatic measures, medication, or surgical intervention.

As preventive measures, maintaining nasal moisture, avoiding nasal trauma, controlling blood pressure, and cautiously using medications that may affect coagulation function are important.
