What should I do about hypertrophic scarring after mole removal?

Disease description:

I recently had a mole removed using laser treatment. However, after scab formation, I couldn’t resist picking at the scab with my fingers, resulting in some hypertrophic scarring. Could you please advise on how to manage hypertrophic scarring following mole removal?

Hello, hypertrophic scarring can be treated with laser therapy. Laser treatments are available on-demand and may require multiple sessions for optimal results; however, scar recovery typically takes over six months. Alternatively, you may apply topical scar treatment products and monitor the scar’s progress over six months. During this time, avoid sun exposure, apply sufficient broad-spectrum sunscreen, eliminate spicy or irritating foods from your diet, and minimize screen time to ensure adequate sleep. We hope this information is helpful. Wishing you good health!
