What should I do if my urine is yellow?
Disease description:
My urine has been unusually yellow over the past two days, and I’ve also been experiencing frequent urination. What should I do about the yellow-colored urine?
Yellowish urine may indicate “excess internal heat” (a traditional Chinese medicine concept), and patients may consult a physician for treatment with heat-clearing and detoxifying medications. If yellowish urine is accompanied by symptoms such as frequent or urgent urination, a urinary tract infection (UTI) is likely; therefore, patients should visit a reputable hospital for a routine urinalysis and, under medical guidance, receive appropriate anti-infective therapy. Drinking ample water and urinating frequently helps dilute the urine.
