Early Symptoms of HIV/AIDS
Disease description:
I had one high-risk sexual encounter, and recently I’ve been feeling persistently fatigued and have developed a sore throat. I’m unsure whether I might have contracted HIV. What are the early symptoms of HIV infection?
HIV infection has a certain incubation period; after this period, early symptoms may appear, such as nausea, vomiting, sore throat, joint pain, lymphadenopathy, fatigue, decreased appetite, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. AIDS is a serious disease that currently has no cure. As the disease progresses, it can affect multiple organ systems—including the digestive system, central nervous system, and respiratory system—and lead to a wide variety of associated symptoms. Early detection and prompt treatment are therefore essential.
