A baby’s normal body temperature ranges from 36.3°C to 37.5°C. A current temperature of 37.1°C falls within this normal range, so the mother need not be overly concerned. Newborns have relatively weak immune systems; therefore, it is important to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature and prevent the baby from getting chilled. Additionally, dress the baby appropriately—adding or removing layers according to weather changes—and ensure adequate abdominal warmth to help prevent diarrhea.
