Introduction
The consequences of administering glucose intravenously to diabetic patients generally include elevated blood sugar, indigestion, and increased burden on organs. Diabetes is a chronic metabolic disorder primarily caused by insufficient insulin secretion or insulin resistance. If glucose solution is injected into the muscle of a diabetic patient, it can lead to a significant increase in blood glucose levels.

The consequences of intravenous glucose administration in diabetic patients generally include elevated blood sugar, indigestion, and increased organ burden.

1. Elevated Blood Sugar

Diabetes is a chronic metabolic disorder primarily caused by insufficient insulin secretion or insulin resistance. If diabetic patients receive glucose injections, it may lead to a significant increase in blood glucose levels, resulting in symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, and limb edema. Standardized intravenous therapy should be conducted under a physician's guidance.

2. Indigestion

After receiving glucose injections, the pancreas in diabetic patients bears an additional load. The pancreas plays a key role in breaking down and absorbing fats and sugars in the digestive tract. When its functional load increases, it can easily lead to indigestion symptoms such as nausea, reduced appetite, and abdominal bloating.

3. Increased Organ Burden

Diabetic patients already have impaired insulin secretion. Administering glucose injections may disrupt the body’s metabolic functions, causing excess sugar to accumulate in the body without being properly eliminated, thereby increasing the overall burden on organs. It is recommended to regularly monitor blood glucose levels and maintain them within the normal range. Glucose injections should generally be avoided; if necessary, they should only be used under a doctor’s advice and with appropriate management.

In addition, glucose administration may potentially lead to diabetic ketoacidosis. If any discomfort occurs, patients should seek medical attention promptly.
