Introduction
Excessive sweating on the back of the thighs may be caused by high ambient temperature, excessive clothing, hyperhidrosis, eczema, tinea corporis, or other reasons. In such cases, timely medical evaluation is necessary, and treatment should be based on the underlying cause. Besides these common causes, other factors such as autonomic nervous system dysfunction or hyperthyroidism may also be responsible. Patients experiencing localized discomfort should seek prompt medical attention.

Excessive sweating on the back of the thighs may be caused by high ambient temperature, excessive clothing, hyperhidrosis, eczema, tinea corporis, or other reasons. In such cases, timely medical evaluation is recommended, followed by treatment based on the underlying cause. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. High Ambient Temperature

If the surrounding temperature is too high and the environment is hot and stuffy, it can easily lead to increased sweating on the back of both thighs. It is advisable to leave the high-temperature environment promptly and use fans or air conditioning to cool down and relieve discomfort.

2. Excessive Clothing

Wearing too many clothes, especially when the skin on the back of the thighs lacks ventilation, may result in localized excessive sweating. This is a normal physiological response without significant discomfort and usually resolves on its own, so there is generally no need for concern.

3. Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis refers to abnormally increased sweating on either localized or generalized areas of the skin. It can be classified into generalized hyperhidrosis and focal hyperhidrosis, with the latter commonly affecting areas such as the hands, feet, armpits, and face. Under a doctor's guidance, medications such as Xuhan Ting Capsules or Zhibai Dihuang Pills may be prescribed for treatment.

4. Eczema

When eczema develops on the back of the thigh, it may cause papules or vesicular papules on the affected skin, often accompanied by exudation, itching, and stinging. Patients should use topical medications such as halometasone cream or desonide cream under medical supervision to alleviate symptoms.

5. Tinea Corporis (Ringworm)

Fungal infection on the back of the thigh can lead to local skin papules and exudation, increased secretions, intense itching, and scaling. In such cases, patients should follow medical advice and apply antifungal creams such as miconazole nitrate cream or ketoconazole cream to treat the condition.

Besides the above common causes, other factors such as autonomic nervous system dysfunction or hyperthyroidism may also contribute. Individuals experiencing localized discomfort should seek prompt medical attention to prevent worsening of the condition.
