What does IV degree mean?
Generally, grade IV refers to a vaginal discharge cleanliness grade of IV, indicating severe inflammation. The specific analysis is as follows:
Vaginal cleanliness is classified into four levels: I, II, III, and IV. Therefore, grade IV indicates a cleanliness level of IV, with higher grades corresponding to more severe inflammation. Grades I and II indicate normal secretions, with no presence of foreign bacteria or white blood cells, meaning there is no inflammatory infection and no special treatment is required. A cleanliness grade of III indicates only a small number of vaginal bacilli but an increased amount of foreign bacteria and white blood cells, suggesting mild vaginitis. Patients are advised to maintain good personal hygiene, wash and change underwear frequently, practice safe sexual hygiene, and follow medical advice to use metronidazole vaginal effervescent tablets or dual-azole effervescent tablets for treatment.
A cleanliness grade of IV indicates relatively severe vaginal inflammation, such as vulvovaginal candidiasis or trichomonas vaginitis. Treatment should follow medical guidance using oral medications such as metronidazole tablets, tinidazole capsules, or clindamycin hydrochloride capsules. During treatment, patients should avoid alcohol and tobacco, drink plenty of water, engage in moderate exercise, and maintain healthy lifestyle habits.
Once a cleanliness grade of IV is detected, patients should actively cooperate with their doctors, ensure accurate diagnosis, use medications appropriately, and avoid delaying treatment.
