Introduction
Under normal circumstances, dizziness occurring suddenly after 10 days of hyperbaric oxygen therapy may be related to pressure changes, excessive oxygen flow, insufficient cerebral blood supply, cerebral vasoconstriction, or cerebral infarction, and symptomatic treatment is required. If the patient works inside a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, pressure changes may lead to the above discomfort symptoms. This is a normal physiological phenomenon and generally does not require special treatment.

Under normal circumstances, dizziness occurring suddenly after 10 days of hyperbaric oxygen therapy may be related to factors such as pressure changes, excessive oxygen flow, insufficient cerebral blood supply, cerebral vasoconstriction, or cerebral infarction. Symptomatic treatment is required. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Pressure Changes

If patients work inside a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, pressure fluctuations may cause the aforementioned discomfort. This is a normal physiological phenomenon and generally does not require special treatment.

2. Excessive Oxygen Flow

Oxygen flow should not be too high; low-flow oxygen inhalation is recommended. Excessively high oxygen concentration may lead to respiratory arrest, causing temporary cerebral hypoxia. Dizziness can also be associated with various diseases. The occurrence of dizziness during oxygen therapy indicates a change in the patient's condition, commonly seen in cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases or severe hypotension. A comprehensive clinical evaluation by a physician is necessary to establish an accurate diagnosis and identify the underlying cause.

3. Insufficient Cerebral Blood Supply

If a patient already has pre-existing cerebral hypoperfusion, undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy may exacerbate symptoms, leading to the aforementioned discomfort. Patients may take medications such as enteric-coated aspirin tablets or clopidogrel hydrogen sulfate tablets as directed by their doctor.

4. Cerebral Vasoconstriction

Patients with hypoxemia or acute myocardial infarction often require oxygen therapy to sustain life. However, if the oxygen concentration is too high or the inhalation rate is too fast, it may cause constriction of cerebral blood vessels, resulting in slowed circulation and dizziness. Treatment may include medications such as enteric-coated aspirin tablets or compound danshen tablets under medical supervision.

5. Cerebral Infarction

In patients with cerebral infarction, hyperbaric oxygen therapy may worsen cerebral circulatory disturbances, causing the above symptoms. Patients may take medications such as atorvastatin calcium tablets or rosuvastatin calcium tablets as prescribed by their doctor.

Patients experiencing any discomfort should seek timely medical attention and receive standardized treatment under a physician’s guidance to promote recovery.
