Under normal circumstances, consuming dark-colored foods, fried foods, photosensitive foods, animal offal, and strongly acidic foods may cause the skin to darken. If discomfort occurs after eating these foods, it is advisable to seek medical treatment promptly. Specific explanations are as follows:

1. Dark-colored foods: These refer to foods with deep pigmentation, such as strong tea, coffee, purple rice, black beans, black sesame seeds, silkie chicken, purple cabbage, and black fungus. These foods contain large amounts of melanin; excessive consumption can lead to melanin accumulation in the body, which deposits on the skin and causes skin darkening.

2. Fried foods: In addition to contributing to weight gain, fried foods contain oxidants that accelerate skin aging, resulting in reduced skin luster and elasticity, making the skin rough and darker.

3. Photosensitive foods: These foods are rich in metallic elements such as copper, iron, and zinc, including potatoes, spinach, and papaya. The trace elements in these foods can increase substances related to melanin production—such as tyrosinase, dopaquinone, and tyrosine—thereby weakening the skin's resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. As a result, the skin becomes more prone to darkening and developing spots when exposed to UV light.

4. Animal offal: Organs from animals such as cattle, sheep, and pigs are rich in amino acids, which are key nutrients involved in melanin formation. Excessive intake of these foods may lead to pigment deposition and skin darkening.

5. Strongly acidic foods: Human body fluids are weakly alkaline. Consuming excessive strongly acidic foods may make blood pH more acidic, promoting melanin formation and leading to melanin accumulation in the skin. Examples of strongly acidic foods include desserts, egg yolks, and cheese.
