How to Care for Yourself After Circumcision
Nowadays, many men suffer from phimosis (excessively long foreskin), which adversely affects marital life and may lead to feelings of inferiority. Significant improvement is often observed following circumcision. So, how should one care for themselves after the procedure?
Post-Circumcision Care
After circumcision, wound infection is relatively common; therefore, regular dressing changes at the incision site are essential. Sterile gauze should be used to dress the wound to prevent infection, and povidone-iodine (iodophor) should be applied for disinfection. Disinfection of the penile area should be performed daily for at least one week to prevent inflammation and promote wound healing. Additionally, maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the genital area, and avoid contact with unclean water or other contaminants.

Circumcision primarily involves surgical removal of excess foreskin to expose the glans penis. It is an effective treatment for phimosis and redundant prepuce, and helps prevent associated complications. As a minor surgical procedure, it typically takes 10–30 minutes, generally does not require hospitalization, carries minimal risk, and allows for rapid recovery.

It is recommended to practice proper local wound care in daily life and abstain from sexual activity until fully healed. Dietary adjustments are also important: avoid spicy, stimulating, or irritating foods, and instead consume more fresh fruits and vegetables. We hope this information proves helpful.
