Introduction
The normal human body temperature ranges from 36°C to 37°C. A temperature not exceeding 37.3°C indicates the absence of fever. However, body temperature naturally fluctuates throughout the day: most people have a lower temperature in the morning and a higher temperature in the afternoon. Additionally, body temperature may rise following vigorous exercise or after consuming large amounts of fluids.

Many people may neglect proper warmth protection in daily life, leading to chills or irregular eating habits that trigger fever. What is the normal human body temperature range?

Normal Human Body Temperature Range

The normal human body temperature ranges from 36°C to 37°C. A temperature not exceeding 37.3°C generally indicates no fever. However, body temperature naturally fluctuates throughout the day: most individuals have lower temperatures in the morning and higher temperatures in the afternoon. Additionally, body temperature may rise temporarily after vigorous exercise or consuming large amounts of fluids. Similarly, exposure to a high-temperature environment can also cause a corresponding increase in body temperature.

Commonly used thermometers include mercury-in-glass thermometers, digital (electronic) thermometers, and infrared thermometers. Traditional glass mercury thermometers can measure temperature at the axilla (armpit), orally (under the tongue), or rectally; however, they pose a risk of breakage—especially if bitten—potentially causing mercury leakage. Digital thermometers offer rapid readings and are particularly suitable for young, active children. Infrared thermometers, similar to digital ones, typically measure tympanic (ear) temperature; however, they are not recommended for infants under three months old, as their ear canals are delicate and susceptible to injury.

In daily life, it is essential to maintain adequate warmth—especially during early mornings and evenings—by wearing appropriate clothing. Diet should emphasize fresh fruits and vegetables while avoiding spicy or irritating foods. Regular physical activity also helps strengthen the body’s resistance. We hope this information proves helpful to you.
