Recently, my family has been cooking and eating beef tendon dishes frequently. I’m concerned about gaining weight—does eating beef tendon cause weight gain?
Consuming beef tendon does not cause weight gain. Beef tendon has a delicious flavor and pleasant texture, yet its caloric content is relatively low. It is rich in various nutrients, including vitamins A, B, and E, abundant collagen, and multiple minerals. These nutrients help enhance skin elasticity, delay aging, strengthen tendons and bones, and may improve conditions such as general physical frailty and soreness or weakness in the lower back and knees. Additionally, it may help slow the progression of osteoporosis in middle-aged and elderly women.
