Some individuals are allergic to cassia seed (Cassia obtusifolia L. or Cassia tora L.). After consuming cassia seed infusion, they may experience adverse reactions such as numbness of the lips and tongue, pruritus, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dyspnea, and cyanosis of the lips. Therefore, patients with known hypersensitivity to cassia seed should avoid its use entirely. Prolonged consumption of cassia seed tea may lead to menstrual irregularities in mild cases, and in severe cases, may cause abnormal endometrial changes, potentially triggering preterm labor. Cassia seed infusion is particularly unsuitable for patients with spleen-stomach deficiency-cold or spleen deficiency with diarrhea. Long-term intake may impair liver and kidney function, thereby adversely affecting overall health.
