How is severe cervical erosion treated?
Disease description:
It has been over a month since I gave birth, yet I’ve continued experiencing vaginal bleeding, which has been extremely distressing—I’m unsure of the cause. After undergoing an examination, my doctor diagnosed me with severe cervical erosion. I would like to consult a physician: How is severe cervical erosion treated?
If you have severe cervical ectropion, it is advisable to undergo a CT scan and HPV testing. If you experience abnormal vaginal discharge, blood-tinged discharge, lower abdominal pain, or low back pain, you may opt for microwave therapy or LEEP (loop electrosurgical excision procedure) treatment; drug therapy is generally ineffective in such cases. If no symptoms are present, laser or microwave treatment may be considered. In general, drug therapy yields minimal efficacy for severe cervical ectropion; therefore, we recommend that you actively cooperate with treatment and schedule your hospital visit for examination and treatment three days after your menstrual period ends.
