Having sexual intercourse during menstruation can pose health risks. During this time, the vaginal and uterine environments are more vulnerable, increasing susceptibility to bacterial infection. Additionally, the body’s immune defenses are relatively weakened during menstruation; thus, intercourse may lead to conditions such as cervicitis and vaginitis. It may also elevate the risk of ectopic pregnancy, and in severe cases, even infertility—posing significant harm to women’s health.
