Can medication be taken during menstruation?
Disease description:
I experience mild fever during my menstrual period. I happen to have antipyretic medication at home, but I’m unsure whether it’s safe to take it. May I ask if it’s permissible to take medication during menstruation?
Women experiencing fever during menstruation may take medication. If fever occurs during menstruation and the temperature is only mildly elevated, physical cooling methods—such as using fever-reducing patches, alcohol sponging, or drinking plenty of warm water to promote sweating—can be effective. For more severe fever, antipyretic medications may be taken under a physician’s guidance; this generally does not adversely affect the body. Adequate rest is recommended.
