When the soles of the feet are bitten by mosquitoes and severe pruritus occurs, patients may apply a mixture of diphenhydramine ointment and ketoconazole ointment. This treatment typically provides noticeable itch relief within approximately 3–5 days, and the rash gradually fades and resolves. However, if the response is suboptimal—e.g., the rash continues to spread peripherally or becomes increasingly edematous—this indicates disease progression, and patients should combine oral chlorpheniramine maleate tablets with a compound preparation containing Lycium barbarum (goji berry) and chlorhexidine digluconate. For severe pruritus, intramuscular injection of chlorpheniramine maleate injection may be administered.
