What should I do if a mosquito bite causes blisters?
Disease description:
My mosquito bite has swollen severely and developed a blister. I’d like to know how to treat a mosquito bite that has formed a blister.
If blisters develop after a mosquito bite, first disinfect the area with iodophor and apply an anti-inflammatory ointment externally to alleviate symptoms. If the skin is intact, calamine lotion may be applied; however, if there is skin breakdown, wet compresses with boric acid solution or normal saline should be used. For larger blisters, sterile aspiration using a syringe is recommended. Patients with severe symptoms should take oral medications as prescribed by a physician. During treatment, avoid scratching to prevent infection, maintain proper dietary habits, and refrain from consuming irritants such as scallions, ginger, and garlic.
