Scars resulting from mosquito bites can typically be treated with topical ointments. Following a mosquito or insect bite, an obvious inflammatory response occurs—characterized by skin redness. Repeated scratching or inadequate sun protection may lead to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Topical treatments such as compound arbutin cream or hydroquinone cream may be used. For scars caused by insect bites, various topical medications are available.
