What should I do about mosquito bite blisters?

May 28, 2022 Source: Cainiu Health
Disease description:

In the past, mosquito bites never caused blisters, but after being bitten yesterday, I noticed a blister this morning—accompanied by intense itching. I’m afraid that scratching might cause the blister to rupture and leak fluid. What should I do? I’d like to know how to manage blisters caused by insect bites.

In severe cases, sterile needles can be used to aspirate fluid from the bullae. Topical calamine lotion may be applied for treatment. Some patients develop secondary infections after gua sha, presenting with local purulent exudate. Management primarily involves oral antihistamines; for mild erythema and papules, a green topical ointment may be applied. If symptoms fail to improve following the above measures—or if severe pruritus develops—oral medication under physician guidance is recommended.
