Disease description:

I previously had cervical ectropion. Over the past few days, my menstrual period has not ended, and I’ve also experienced bleeding associated with cervical ectropion. Is this bleeding from cervical ectropion a sign of a serious condition?

Cervical erosion with mild bleeding is generally not severe. It may manifest as blood-tinged vaginal discharge or postcoital vaginal bleeding. In women with cervical erosion, the cervical surface typically exhibits congestion and erosion. Mild cervical erosion often causes no symptoms and may be managed conservatively with observation alone. However, for moderate or severe cervical erosion, regular cervical TCT (ThinPrep cytology test) screening is recommended, along with pharmacological treatment—such as Baofukang suppositories or Xiaomi suppositories—for three consecutive courses. If drug therapy proves ineffective, surgical interventions—including microwave or laser therapy—may be required.
