Dr. Chen You
Filamentary keratitis is treated with antibiotics, eye drops, and other therapies. It is a condition characterized by filamentous lesions of the corneal epithelium. Clinical manifestations include foreign-body sensation, ocular pain, photophobia, and epiphora. Treatment is generally tailored to the underlying cause: in cases associated with hepatitis B virus or other viral infections, antibiotic eye drops are used to gently wipe away corneal filaments; soft contact lenses may be worn to promote epithelial healing; topical antibiotics are applied locally; and measures are taken to prevent further infection.
