What vitamin deficiency causes dandruff?
Disease description:
Recently, my scalp has been flaking off like snow, which is particularly unpleasant and greatly affects appearance. I'd like to know what vitamin deficiency might cause excessive dandruff?
This symptom is not caused by vitamin deficiency. However, ensuring adequate intake of vitamin B2 and vitamin B6 may help improve conditions involving excessive dandruff. Dandruff is a normal clinical phenomenon in humans and results from the natural turnover of scalp skin cells. Normally, the epidermal renewal cycle is about 28 days, which means that dandruff is present even in healthy individuals. However, excessive dandruff may be associated with skin conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, fungal infections (tinea), contact dermatitis, and chronic eczema.
