What color is semen?
Disease description:
Recently noticed that the color of my semen appears slightly yellow—wondering if this is a normal color. What color should semen be?
Normal semen is typically grayish-white or slightly yellowish in color, appearing as a translucent milky white after liquefaction. In individuals who have not ejaculated for an extended period, semen may appear pale yellow. A yellowish-green color of semen generally indicates a possible inflammatory condition in the male reproductive tract. If semen appears red, it may suggest the presence of hematospermia, which is commonly associated with diseases such as posterior urethral inflammation, accessory gland infections, tuberculosis, or tumors.
