Lichen sclerosus of the vulva is mainly characterized by white spots of varying sizes on the vulvar area. Most patients experience itching, which worsens with scratching and may lead to skin lesions and secondary infections. In severe cases, it can be accompanied by vulvar pain and a burning sensation, with increased pain during sexual intercourse, potentially leading to dyspareunia. If left untreated for a prolonged period, it may result in vulvar atrophy, sclerosis, and hypopigmentation of the vulvar skin.
