Is it painful to remove gauze after cervical polyp removal?
Disease description:
Recently, I've had vaginal bleeding, but I'm sure it's not my menstrual period. I've also noticed an abnormal increase in vaginal discharge, sometimes accompanied by lower abdominal bloating. After examination, I was diagnosed with cervical polyps, and gauze will be placed after the surgery. So, is removing the gauze after cervical polyp surgery painful?
Removing gauze from a cervical polyp is not painful. However, some women may feel discomfort because the gauze is removed through the vagina, and some women are particularly sensitive in this area. Women who have delivered via cesarean section might experience more discomfort during removal, as their vaginal canal may be relatively tight. To minimize this, it is recommended to lie down on the bed with legs extended in a supine position, allowing the pelvis and vagina to fully relax before removing the gauze manually. During removal, move quickly to reduce vaginal discomfort.
