What causes yellowing of the skin?
Disease description:
What causes yellowing of the skin?
As people age, the skin may gradually turn yellow, which is associated with a decline in overall health. If the skin does not receive sufficient hydration, moisturization, and sun protection, the stratum corneum may become either too thin or too thick, leading to yellowing of the skin. Excessive consumption of certain pigment-rich foods, such as lutein or those containing beta-carotene like carrots, mangoes, and pumpkins, can also cause skin yellowing.
