Pain in the anus during flatulence may be caused by various factors. For example, poor dietary habits—such as excessive consumption of greasy or spicy foods and insufficient intake of dietary fiber—can lead to gastrointestinal discomfort and anal pain. Remaining in the same sitting position for prolonged periods may also increase pressure on the anal area, causing pain. Common anorectal conditions such as hemorrhoids, perianal inflammation, and anal fissures are other frequent causes. Hemorrhoids refer to varicose veins around the anus; perianal inflammation is the inflammation of soft tissues surrounding the anus; and anal fissures involve tears or breaks in the skin around the anus. These conditions can become irritated by gas passage during flatulence, resulting in anal pain. To address this issue, it is recommended to adjust diet and lifestyle habits, and seek medical evaluation and treatment when necessary.
