Does an anal fissure cause bleeding?
Recently, I have noticed some pain during bowel movements, and occasionally there has been blood on the toilet paper, which has made me very concerned. I suspect that I might have developed an anal fissure, as I have heard that anal fissures can cause bleeding, but I am not sure.
Anal fissure is a common condition affecting the anal area, often associated with difficult bowel movements, constipation, or passing hard stools. Anal fissures can cause bleeding, especially during bowel movements, as the hard stool irritates and rubs against the裂口 (crack), leading to bleeding. This type of bleeding is typically bright red in color and usually minimal.
For bleeding caused by anal fissures, patients are advised to seek medical attention promptly. Additionally, lifestyle modifications such as adjusting dietary habits, increasing intake of dietary fiber, maintaining soft stools, and preventing constipation are recommended. Topical medications, such as lidocaine-containing ointments, may be used to help relieve pain.
